Rescue Me was founded by two best friends, Jessica and Caity, who shared a passion for helping animals, environmental education, literature, and a coffee addiction. By combining their dreams and passions, and with the encouragement from Greg, they decided to focus their energy on creating a space that can provide a home for cats and serve as a center for people to gather, and provide an opportunity to expand individuals' knowledge. Rescue Me was proudly founded in 2024 and as an organization our goal is to create a rescue facility for furry, feathered, and shelled friends alike.
Jessica always had a love for animals, growing up along side of cats, dogs, birds, turtles, and even sheep, chickens, and bunnies. She has an immense passion for environmental conservation and education. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology and Marine Biology and worked in ecotourism as a captain, a field specialist for Collier County's Sea Turtle Nesting Program as well as a 7th grade science teacher. Her love for animals, conservation, and education all come together as Rescue Me's proud director.
Caity's mother helped nurture her love for wildlife and the ecosystem. She has grown up with a variety of animals from cats and dogs, turtles and a bunny, even fish! While in college she earned her degree in Biology and Environmental Studies with minor in Coastal Management, and got to participate in a research study on the affects of sunscreen on marine species which led to her first scientific publication. After her internship in a water quality lab and life experiences she decided to get her Masters in Environmental Studies. Outside of her environmental work, she loves to read, has an artsy side, and loves spoiling her dog, Bonita! She is now a valued board member and co-founder of Rescue Me.
Greg grew up living the ranch life in Colorado. He competed in rodeos and learned how to take care of and respect animals and the delicate balance of nature at a young age. This deep respect and admiration has been kept close to his heart through various careers including land surveying, construction, founding a men's self-improvement group, and even bounty hunting and security. Greg moved to Florida to begin another chapter of his life and is now a dedicated board member and facilities manager of Rescue Me.
